I recently had to replace timing chain on my C. Sharp sound when warm at
idle was the chain slapping against the cover! Started all at once. Take
a
tire iron or other ''iron stethoscope'' and put it on the timing cover
while
the noise is there ... it'll be obvious if the sound is coming from that
source.

Hi Doug, and all
I have had good luck with Detroit-Eaton springs ordered thru George Riehl.
I always ask George to have D-E make them "one step" stiffer than
original,
with the belief that the car will handle better, be just a tad firmer, and
also that it will take care of any sagging problems that might happen in
the
future. So far I have installed 4-5 sets of these on various 60 thru 62
Chryslers with good results.
On another note - I was talking to Andy Bernbaum yesterday, who asked me
to
let all know that he will have an unlimited supply of driveshaft rubber
boots for the front trunion joints, in the near future (about 1 to 2
months)
. Andy also told me that he has a large supply of such trunion rebuild
kits - with or without new housings. So - no problem there, we will be all
set for years to come.

I sent an earlier message about the F cvt. Checked back, could not find
the C300 listing so maybe I was wrong on that. But there are others
now--a 57 300C Gauguin red hdtp, Oregon car now in Culver City, CA, and it
looks very nice. There is a 60 F hdtp, white, in Indiana Kruse has up for
auction. Says it received 98.5 pts at the Mopar Nat'ls in 95 and only 100
miles since then. 888 special code gray interior is mentioned. Has not
met reserve yet at $35,000. Claims over $70,000 in resto. Also a 58 D
hardtop big project, no picture.
Quite interesting to find not only one, but several letter cars up for
sale. I don't think I've ever seen that many at one time. Usually
pickings are slim.
Wonder if others care to comment or know about the subject cars??????
Gotta say the Gauguin Red is a terrific color!

The car seems to be a huge project, but no picture is shown anywhere.
