Thanks to all who expressed interest in the Imperial. It looks like it is
going to stay in the family, so I will not be selling it. My apologies to
those who are getting this message unsolicited, but it was much easier to
let those interested parties know this way.

Fellow members
I am on the hunt for a good brake booster that will fit my 59 Saratoga. If

anyone has an extra, knows where I might find one or can recommend someone

who could rebuild mine, I would appreciate the information.

Thanks

Speaking of Brake Boosters.

Found a solid metal style booster in amongst my stuff for my 57.

It is Mopar BUT:

I DO NOT think it is right for a 57 300 so if anyone wants me to
get any identifying marks off it just ask, I DO NOT NEED IT!!!!!

Never saw on of these on the 392's I've done. Is this an item that we can
find, or do I just throw it away and pretend it is a 392.

To all:

I believe the oval rubber bellows style boosters were manufactured by
Kelsey-Hayes while the oval metal can type of booster was manufactured by
Bendix. I am not sure which is appropriate for which application.

I recently had an oval metal can (Bendix) unit re-manufactured by Karp's
Power Brake Service in Upland, Ca. He replaced all of the rubber parts
and valves and even put some horsehair under the little vent cover, just
like the originals had. He also powder coated everything and did a
gorgeous job.

I highly recommend this place for any Booster repair. He also does
resleeving of master cylinders, wheel cylinders and disc brake calipers.
Great guy. Give him a call at (909)985-0800. E-Mail at

I just got to my mail and found a tremendous response from the 300 group
- thanks all.
I will be responding to the emails later. Got a number of suggestions
to replace the whole
roof. I had this in mind originally but got assurances from a metal
specialists in auto body sheet metal forming
that he can rebuild the damage area. I will re-evaluate which way to
go. There is no hurry as I still
haven't scheduled the car to be taken in yet (sometime this summer).

The offers of tops, for my H hdt, is a lifesaver for my good Sport 300
hdt which I contemplated having to scrap
just to get a roof. I guess one never expects to need a roof. I just
two months prior to the tree falling on my un-restored H hdt
(Car was temporary stored on a friend place in the boonies when a mini
tornado /gust of wind toppled a tree on to the roof)
I helped a friend get rid of a Dodge 880 hdt., in his rented back yard,
by cutting it up (including a perfect roof and floor pan) and hauling it
to the scrap metal yard. Living in a California track house I have no
storage sheet metal parts or extra cars - sure could have used that 880
top!!!

I am an ex-brit, so can give a quick rundown on Brit Daimler.
When I lived in the UK, Daimler was part of a major British
company
called Birmingham Small Arms. It had a very strange product mix. It
made bikes and motor bikes, under the BSA emblem. It made Daimler
cars, which with the exception of the sporty 250 someone mentioned
were stately limos, almost up to the level of Rolls Royce. They were
favourites of dukes and earls and various british royals. Their
biggest division however was as an armaments manufactuer. I fired some
of
their firearms long ago, and the company supplied guns and ammo to
many armies of the world.
The company sold off the car division to Jaguar, some time in the
late 50s/early 60s. From then on Daimlers were mostly rebadged Jags.
There never was any connexion with Daimler-Benz of Germany.

assessment, but I'd have to say, "Sorry, try again". I've been saving up
for the Hemi C convert concept from a couple years ago. Now, that's my
idea
of a new letter car. NO FOUR DOORS, unless they want to bring back the
'non-letter' 300 designation (as I believe they should have with the
original M).

Subject: 6-12 Volt Battery source???

Need help again!

Who in this USA is selling those switchable 12 volt -to-6 volt lead acid
auto batteries. Some 25+ years ago I use to
be able to easily buy them locally . The local batt shop/suppliers
no longer can source them. One supplier indicated
that someone , or outfit, bought up all these 6V-12V batt and
manufacturing sources years ago! Anyone know who or where???
Could not find anything in Hemmings.
