I heard that the Paxton 300F special had been "for sale" on ebay.
Has anyone else heard the rumor? or found the listing?

Subject: 300M For Sale

Folks:

We have a 1999 300M that we custom-ordered new before they were even
available to see or to drive. We are going to sell it shortly. It is a
somewhat rare model with the high performance suspension/brakes/engine
management (top speed limiter removed) option and has the full sized alloy
spare, as well as being a "Sunroof Delete" car .

All documentation, including window sticker, etc. . Also, lots of early
pre-announcement and promotional info, including stuff we received from
Chrysler as an "Early Adopter" (Imagine that - I've had Letter Cars since
1972). It's Metallic Black on Black Leather, 90K miles, Mobil One since
new,
etc.

If you are at all interested, contact me privately.

Thanks,

Keith

Hi all:

It interesting that this car should come up in discussion.

Several years ago, I attended a 300 Meet in Sacramento where our guest
speaker at the awards banquet spoke about this very car. After the
Granatelli's did their runs on the Bonneville Flats, the Paxton
superchargers
were removed from the car and the F was used for several years in northern

Utah for tire testing with conventional carburetion. During this period,
they logged about 400,000 miles of which about 60% were over 160 mph!
(They
being the speaker and his uncle who was the honcho of the testing
program.)

On the final day of testing, before they retired the F, the speaker, I
can't
remember his name, changed the spark plugs and broke one off. His uncle
then
said that the testing would be aborted and they climbed into the F and
headed
for home on 7 cylinders. Along the way they were challenged by some
youngsters in an Olds 442. according to the speaker, the guys were making

fun of the F so his uncle, who was driving, said they are not going to get

away with that. He floored the F, caught up with the 442 and the race
began.
The F ran away from the 442 with ease on 7 cylinders!!!

The speaker said his uncle never talked about the F after that and he, the

speaker, had no knowledge of the whereabouts of it.

It would be a terrific find if this F finally surfaced.

I noticed that the distributor was not a stock Chrysler unit, but rather a
Mallory type. Was this the factory installed distributor on the fuel
injected cars? My 300G came with the same type of distributor when I
bought it back in '78, I still have it.

Hi Bob,
The distributor I think you are looking at is the one for the fuel
injectors. If you look close, you will see the standard distributor next
to
it. The injectors are timed off a tach drive distributor with an adapter.
I
gave Tom the distributor that is in the car. It's a 413 unit that Tom had
the shaft shortened on to work on a 383.
300ly,
    Don

Hello All.....
I have found the right front fender lower rear patch panels that I had
inquired about a few days ago. Black-Car has them for $60 plus shipping. I
am not certain, but they may also have the left hand ones also. Here is a
link to their web page:
