Subject: 300 G Left Headpipe
This may be a silly question, but consider the source. I have a 9 day
old son and the concrete floor has a temperature somewhere between cold
and really freekin' cold. And I am not all that bright to begin with.
Do I need to remove the starter in order to install the left exhaust
headpipe on the G? The car is elavated with the front suspension fully
extended.

Need some help folks. I had my dash done by Just Dash's , for a 300-e . do you glue it down or does it just rest on the metal dash. If it is glued down where and with what kind of glue . It looks like it would almost attach without any glue , what was the factory standard.

Subject: 300C Hubcap
Happy New Year everybody! (all y'all) ( I did that in order to get
Wayne Graefen's attention since this is a 300C matter......)
I've come up missing one of the small center hub "wings" on one of my
'57 hubcaps. I've noticed two different styles of these caps. One
style has the three "wings" actually stamped into the center, and the
other style that I have where the little "wings" have a small stud and
locating pin on them and are held on with a nut. I didn't see anything
about this in Wayne's handbook so was wondering if anyone knew the
skinny on this (different suppliers, midyear change, etc.).
So, the long and the short here is that I'm looking for a wing. I'll
buy an antire cap if need be, but all I"m looking for is the wing. The
cap with the missing wing is out of balance enough that at highway
speed, the hubcap actually works itself around in the wheel and will
eventually break the valve stem. (Not fun)....

As an aside, a friend of a friend here in Columbus has a very original
'57 Imperial with the same hubcaps but they're painted grey in the
middle instead of red. Was this style hubcap used on anyting else in
'57?

I'm not quite sure just what started the tempest in this teapot, but I want
to put my 2 cents in.
From the very moment that I came upon this group, I was very plain in the
fact that I had no letter car, just a very tired old 1957 Saratoga 4dr. Now,
THAT is as far from glamorous as you can get, I guess.
WITHOUT EXCEPTION, I've been treated generously. It was made very clear to
me that all I needed to be to be a member of the club was AN INTEREST in the
300's. Plainly, not everyone can have one, but I've had lots of offers to
drive one, and was made very welcome to attend the meets. Members have been
generous in offers of material and moral support.
I'm sorry that someone has felt slighted and chooses to leave. I can only
hope they will reconsider.

I suggest that you call them for their recommendations as to how to attach
their product.And with what glue!
The factory glued them originally, and Goers glued mine when he recovered it
in the early 90's. Just Dashes is a very different process, however.

Sorry I couldn't resist- We snooty " nose in the air" rednecks up here in
Montana with our Lettered "horses?" tied up at the hitchin post out front
can't see what all the fuss is about! I have been in the club over 20 years
and never have gotten the "attitude" from anyone. Yeah it's a club for
letter cars but it is for ANYONE WHO HAS A INTEREST IN 300's, letter or not
and even Mopars in general. As the rock group The Eagles said in a song a
few years back- GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!!!! If there is a attitude problem I
think someone needs to look close to home, not here as far as we redneck
Montanans are concerned! Joe Pierce 64 Sport 300, 63 Dart GT conv. 86 Dodge
w-150, 64 "one of none" 300 s/w, and a few 300's w/ letters and I like 'em
all the same!

YES!! YES!! I have a COMPLETE set of BOTH types.
The set with the "stamped" centercaps were the only ones I ever knew
about untill I saw an add in the Club newsletter advertizing the
"wings". These are the hubcaps that were on my First 300-C I bought
back in 1970. The secont style are like the caps I got with the car
I bought in 1995.

I have a few sets of the NOS Carter filters and glass bowls. I only sell
mine with carb re builds. If I can help any body let me know,
I also have new in tank fuel pickup tube filters w/ the fuel sender seal.
these are often over looked as they are out of sight out of mind.
Old ones can easily be near plugged up and starving your car for fuel. $15
for the set including shipping in the lower 48.

Don't know where all this anamosity came from about non lettered cars. I
have a 68 300 , have asked questions about it and gotten very good advise.
Not to mention great answers to my questions about my 74 NY, and my 77
Newport, with the krapy lean burn. I for one love the club as well as our
Beautiful Brutes. I am a former owner of a 57 300c convert, purchased new by
the way in 1957 in Milwaukee Wis, not many people can say that, Also have
owned a 57 300c coupe, 2 59 300E's, a 65 300L, a65 300 plain jane, and to
many other mopars to mention. Keep up the good work and I will stick with

Hi Gang.
All this talk about letters v.s non-letters.reminded me that I own a
letter.just not the car that it belongs on. I loaned my NOS "H" to
someone in the club to be reproduced and it has never come back after a
couple of years. Now I would never try to pass off my sport as an
"H".but the H has sentimental value even if it doesn't belong on my car.
I would like it back. If anyone has any idea where it went or when it's
coming back I would be thrilled to have it.
