Hello This is Phil,
I have been trying for over 3 months to get my 300K from Maryland to
here in
Las Vegas. I have tried Auto Movers (I DO NOT RECOMEND) They have just
recieved a letter from my Lawyer for my deposit which I want back. They
had the
account for over 1 month and did nothing with it!
Next.. First Class Auto Movers, They did pick the car up, but instead of
coming
to Las Vegas it was taken to their storage facility in Fontana
California,
Then I called to see when the car would be delivered to me and they said
that they would not be able to deliver it due to the fact that it does
not run.
They wanted me to pay the full price $850.00 cash to them and then get a
Tow
Truck company to pick it up from them! I told them they can keep the car
until
they get a call from the States Attorney! Then they changed their mind.
They are
actually going to one of the local truck-stops and I am going to meet
them their with
a local Tow Truck. The Moral of the story is check with The Better
Business
Bureau, before commiting. Tey are also only getting paid $400.00 !

Phil,
And others seeking help with transportation of your cars. I have been
involved in one way or another in the transportation of vehicles for many
years. I am just now awaiting delivery of my own newly acquired 57 300C.
My advice is simple. You get what you pay for. Seeking the lowest
possible
price often leads to the lowest class of company. Not always true
certainly, but from my own experience, more often than not.
If you are seeking transportation for a vehicle that you truly value it is
hard to go wrong with carriers that folks who transport concours vehicles
or
those who ship prototypes that are often priceless, as the automobile
manufacturers do everyday.
Companies like Reliable, (that is shipping my car), Horseless Carriage,
and
others like them are expert at what they do, treat your vehicle as their
own, and have been around a long time as a result.
Are they the lowest price. Likely not. But, for me, the old saying, "The
bitterness of poor quality, lingers long after the sweetness of low
price",
is as true today as it was when my dad was a kid. And that was a long
time
ago.

A well tuned non-emission equipped vehicle puts out less smog than a badly
tuned emission equipped vehicle. It's harder than you think to smog on.

Subject: Torque converter rebuilds - where?
Good mornin'. Darn cold in Atlanta.
I've a '57 torque converter that wants to be rebuilt/exchanged. Does
anyone have recommendations re. where to have the job done?
Can't find anyone in GA who will do the old stuff. Please let me know if
you've a good reference.
(I've a smooth-cased unit that leaks and an air-cooled unit with a
1/2-gone ring gear...hoping to make (or trade for) one good unit).
