On the drivers side of the engine compartment is a hook shaped bracket
that bolts on to the inner fender well.
I know the hook part of it gets that rubber stuff. What about the upper
part? Is it painted like the engine bay color?
Is it left its aluminum look?
Is it painted black?
Thanks,
Matt Allyn

For 64 300 is there a factory bolt on for this car
i.e. 78 -79 fury etc. In order to get the proper
geometry on the front suspension must the after market
kit be used? I've done brakes om my 62 polara using
a mix of a-body and b-body parts and it works pretty
low dollar. Any comments?

Hi Kevin,
Best of my knowledge, there is NO factory bolt-on that works without
serious
modifications and loss of turning radius and inability to align properly.
Of course this is not to say that someone with the time and desire could
not
maybe figure SOMETHING out... I recently found out that 71 Imperials
had
a bolt-on conversion for 1960-1961 long wheelbase Chryslers, and almost by
accident !
The easiest / cheapest way to go THAT I KNOW OF would be to install 1962
spindles and steering arms ( from a 62 SWB Chrysler ) and then use a
conversion kit from AAJ or Stainless Steel Brake.
Of course, it can be argued that the 63-64 brakes are eminently superior
to
the earlier center-plane units....and should be left alone... I have
switched a couple-three 62 Chrysler 300's over to 1963 brakes and the
owners
have been completely satisfied.
