It is Chevy, it's also MoPar. Fits 1960's with this vacuum set-up, in lieu
of the bag. I have several new ones.....anyone need to replace their old
cracked and yellow reservoir?

300 fans,
Hmm, everyone's e-mailing ME. This, folks, is not mine, some Chevy guy
is selling it on e-Bay.
I don't need it as I have several. Apologies for any misunderstanding.
Dave.

I am in need of the plastic trim moulding retainers that hold the
outside trim on my 65 300 L. I need those at the window
trim line, the belt line and also the lower trim on the sides.
Anyone have these retainers or know of a source?

I have a friend in Baltic, CT who does the radios for the Corvete Club,
and has done MoPar radios for my 30's & 40's cars. When I saw your last
msg, a friend of mine from Baltic CT was here at the house in FLorida and
gave me Vince's E-Mail. Let me contact him and see if he is doing other
MoPars and if he wants to take on a new project. Ted 300 F.

Subject: 1962 300 Needs
Aside from the below questions.I have two more which I need help on:
1. The steering column is supported inside under the dash by 2 nuts
whose studs are threaded into an aluminum cast piece. One of the sides
is stripped in the aluminum piece. How do I fix that?
2. Pulled off the A/C-heat box (the long one not housing the heater
core). There are 2 rubber flaps that have disintegrated. Are they
needed? What do they do? Do I need to find replacements of some kind?
Tearing into the '62 300 and are wonder about some things and am looking
for the following items, if anyone may have them for sale.
* Does the ignition switch bezel come apart from the green lens so
that it may be re-chromed?
* Can the push buttons for the trans. & A/C be separated from
their plastic indicators; again to be re-chromed?
* Anyone have a deluxe horn ring for sale with saddle tan pads?
* Anyone have a driver's side plastic A/C duct that goes between
the A/C hose & the A/C swivels for sale?
* Anyone have a spare pin that holds the lower A/C horizontal vent
to its chrome housing? This is the vent located drivers side under the
dash. Or can someone recommend a suitable item to use in place of a
factory pin?
* Anyone have a switch & knob for the lower dash supports for
sale? I'm looking to replace a current dummy knob at the "Rear Window"
hole and hook up my factory rear defrost. I'll use a dome or map light
switch & forego the dual speed switch.
* 1 non-300 question, if I may.(Anyone know if a wagon tailgate
torsion bar can be adjusted so the tailgate doesn't drop like a lead
weight? It was working fine & all of the sudden Jennifer has insane
biceps from opening & closing the thing!)
Thanks!

On our '62 300 I think I'll replace the A/C vacuum hoses.
Are the color coded ones available or do I just use all black and pay
attention to what goes where?
Thanks,

Matt,
This happened to mine twice. After the second time, I drilled thru the
aluminum and put bolts thru it with washers and nuts on the back (top)
side
of the bracket. No more problems!!

Matt,
I can't tell you if the color coded ones are available but ...
Be VERY careful with the 'nipples' on the switch end, they are extremely
fragile and also very hard to find replacements for.
Don't ask me how I know this!

About 5 years ago my youngest boy bought a 70 Newport.
a Running car but little problems abounded.
They were still using color coded vac lines under the dash.
You MIGHT find the switch still available. I know both
boys had no problems finding replacement switches for their
70 and 71.

Rusty and gang
Don't know about Aussie guys repos, but Timo has returned. I have not
bought domes from him, but the items I have are excellent repos that come
out of Sweden.

Consider to remove one at a time. Take black tubing, cut to length and put
paint close to the existing color about 1" on each end. You will
accomplish
the same intent as different color coded tubing.

Go to an electronics store and buy a set of coding tape. They are
narrow strips of tape in the ten color resistor code. Wrap around
each end of line at least two revolutions. No mess with paint( and
possible reactions!), no drying time and ten distinct colors.
