Subject: Displaced C Motor Database
The first five 300C displaced motors are in the new database and the first
car VIN that is missing its original motor.
When this has received more input, anyone is welcome to e-mail me for a
copy of the file to be attached in a return e-mail to them. Specify if
you want it as a 123 or Excel file.
If you want a hard copy mailed to you, send me a stamped, self-addressed
envelope.

Subject: THE HUNT is OVER,, at last!!!
AS some of you know, for the last 5 years I have been searching
for an affordable set of carbs for my 300-C restoration project.
Last year was the first year of the last 5 that I even got a sniff
of any, only to see the chevy "Nuts" pay a LOT of bucks for the
wrong carbs, and they did it 3 times last year.
(all on that great time waster E-bay).
Long have I searched, far have I ranged, many states have I visited.
This weekend I had planed on hitting 3 swaps in 3 states.
Fri. I traveled to Ohio to the Chrysler Classic, turned up empty
handed as far as 57 Chrysler stuff. Sat. I visited the Hoosier
Spring swap. (Just across the county from home)
I started the fateful day covering the event in the reverse order
I have gone through it for the past 5 years (front to back).
In the very first isle I went down I spied a chevy intake with
the WRONG carbs on it. One look is usually all it takes for me to
see that a close examination is NOT in order. Well, one look
and I dropped my umbrella and jaw. Thems were Chrysler carbs!!!!
One of them even was still wearing its' tag. Darn dealer insisted on
selling the set up intact though. BUT I now have the right carbs for
my car at a more realistic $$$.
(And "The Monster", my original 300-C, is breathing a big sigh of
relief because I don't have to remove those items from it to complete
"Blacky's resto now)
TO top it all off, later I saw another 2x4 set of WCFB carbs.
This time they were on a 50's vintage factory Ford intake.
I looked down the throat, the venturies were TINY. Dont think I
could have fit my finger through them. And I do not have fat hands.
dont see how the motor could have breathed well at all. Seems silly
for Ford to have restricted their motors so much at the time when
the horse power wars were getting under way.
Well, anyway. "My" new carbs are missing a few misc. parts.
Other wise they are in relatively remarkable condition for
what I found (even still has the right linkage and brass gas
line fittings)
Does anyone know if the brass vent tubes are available??
the 2 on the back carb are broken.
The front carb is missing the linkage to the accelerator pump.
According to the Chrysler service bulletin it is called the
throttle connector rod.
I also am now looking for a bakelite cover for the choke as well as
the clamp for the choke tube as depicted in the service bulletin.
In the many years I have been looking for these 2 carbs, I probably
have only seen 3 or 4 Chrysler WCFB's at the swaps I have been to.
And none of those were for the 57-58 years. And the majority I saw
were totally shot. Seems like the chevy people are looking for
the Chrysler carbs as well. They are bigger then what GM bought
to put on their motors. ALL the GM WCFBs I have seen at the swaps
have smaller venturies.

Well here I go, in my excitement I forgot to mention this.
I will GLADLY buy a reasonably intact and fairly priced
WCFB 4 bbl carb from a 57 or 58 single carb motor for these
few parts.
I know someone who needs the rest of the carb, and I owe him
a favor.
