When I worked in gas a station, back in the late sixties, the owner had a
cute little tool with a miniature screwdriver grip on one end and a little
hook shape on the other to turn that adjuster. Since that tool was only
good for that one task, you probably won't find many of them around
today.You might as well take an old screwdriver and bend it until it will
fit in there.

300 fans,
Recently bought 3 interesting magazines off e-Bay. Car & Driver,
August, September, October 1961. These have Bill Carroll's articles, "
Beautiful Brute" in 3 parts.
This letter was published in the October 1961 edition. I thought it
made interesting reading.
TROUBLE GETTING PARTS.
I am the owner of an XK140 Jaguar.I have no trouble whatsoever getting
parts for this car at any time.At most, I would have to wait for 2 days
for the parts to come from Momo in New York.
I recently bought a Chrysler 300F for my wife. It is not a sports car, but
a nice practical car for the wife.Well, I just cannot get parts for it. No
MoPar wholesaler,much less a Chrysler dealer, stocks any parts that are
not used on the standard Chrysler line. All parts must come from Detroit
with weeks of delay, if they come at all.
Let no one complain about getting parts for foreign cars.I did not expect
a dealer to be able to service the car, but I did expect to be able to get
parts.

Several things caught my attention. Ed says " It is a nice practical car
for the wife",
and the fact that even in late 1961, he did NOT expect the dealer to be
able to service the 300F !!! And cannot get parts.
Make one wonder just what special parts a 300F could need in late 1961.
Dual points? Air filters?. As for Ed's comment that it is "a nice
practical car for the wife", hmmmm, that's an interesting quote in
today's context.

Subject: Nuts & bolts
Hi all
Today I was cleaning up the steering box to frame bolts for my 300C and
noticed that I had one mis-matched, with a different head marking. No
problem I thought, I'll just grab one from a '57 Plymouth parts car I
have. After getting covered in grease and dirt it turns out these have
different markings again, so I get under the other C I have (more grease
and dirt) , and yep, you guessed it, they're %#*!# different again!
So I have "N" stamped bolts in the project C
"S" " " in the Plymouth
"DPCD" " " in the C driver
Any idea what's "right"? Did Chrysler change their hardware suppliers
throughout the model year?
I take a look over the car and see a heap of different brand names/
markings, TR, S,DPCD......
My Ch*vy mates (yes I do have some) come over and comment on using the
correct bolts......... but then again all they have to do is order a
complete "kit" of new bolts!
