Good morning & happy Friday. I wondered if anyone had useable '57 C side
molding available for purchase? I'm looking for just the long spears
forward
of the medallions, and am guessing they're the same for 300D too.
Crunched
/ driver condition would be fine; just looking to complete the set for the
stripped car.
Please also help this dummy figure out how to disconnect the push-button
cable from a cast-iron torqueflite (all still in car). Any tricks here?

One could take a '57 DeSoto 2dr rear quarter spear and cut it down to
length
to get the long spear, or the piece of front door trim from any four door
or
from a monotone two door to cut down to get the short tail, but those of
us
who appreciate the '57 DeSotos within an inch or two of the 300 would not
like to see you do that!

vinyl. Sounds like a very nice car (absolutely never rusted - Colorado

Rams, but not that either), He says the bumpers are nearly mint (that one

Will anyone suggest a suitable product to cure whitewall damage? Is there
something that can be sprayed or painted onto the tyre?

Here's what happened...
Today, while moving a Chrysler to temporary storage, I was careless and
scuffed a tyre against the kerb. I didn't think anything of it at the
time.
I trailered the Chrysler to the storage site. When I arrived and
unloaded,
I saw the whitewall damage and was dismayed. There are many black scuff
or
cut marks, mostly with a definite curve (as the tyre rotated against the
kerb). I am not sure whether the marks are heavy deposits from the kerb
or,
worse, the underlying black rubber showing through the whitewall. I
didn't
have time for a thorough examination because I had to concentrate upon
cleaning the car before putting her away - winter weather, filthy even by
trailer. After I collect car in 3 months' time, I would like to make the
tyre look well again.
