I read with delight, the latest competition of the big three in Popular
Hotrodding! For those that missed it,the results:-)
Ford 460, 618hp & 554lb-ft torque
Chevy 454, 657hp & 562lb-ft
Chrysler 440, 684hp & 582lb-ft

All ran identical exhaust, carburetor, ignition etc and ran on 92 octane
gas!
What was most amusing was Dick Landy was unable to do any real tuning to
the Chrysler engine priorto the event because of a problem with his
computerized dyno!

Owen

Subject: 300C/D Patrol Cars

Hi to all,
Attended a local show yesterday with the C and again had
conversations with people who claim that the NJ
state police used letter cars in the 57/58 period. My answer has always
been that I have personally seen New
Yorker 4- door's used on the NJ turnpike/GS parkway during this period.
But that I doubt that the state of NJ would
have purchased letter cars for their troopers. Have heard conflicting
stories about whether these cars were marked or unmarked. Can anyone out
there confirm or deny the use of these cars by NJ or any other state for
that matter?

Subject: Open Trailer-MT/OR and MT/BAy Area

I am taking two cars to Kalispell, MT. First trip loaded from Berkeley,
CA, up to Kalispell for the drop-off. Then an empty trailer from
Kalispell, MT to Portland, Oregon. Then the second car from Portland back
up to Kalispell and then the empty trailer from Kalispell, Montana back to
Berkeley or Bay Area.

So, one way from MT to Northern OR and One way from Kalispell, MT back
south to Bay Area.

Any needs out there? I plan to head out Wed. or Thurs. of this week10/31
or 11/1, , going from MT to Or empty on Sat., 11/3, then empty back to
SF/Bay Area of Monday or Tuesday, the 5th or 6th.

Happy to help for expenses if either of the empty legs works for anyone
out there.

Please e-mail me privately at hhrp@xxxxxxxxxxx
