Hi John,
The 61 torqueflite uses a screen for a filter and it is usually just
cleaned or left alone. If your transmission is working OK and not leaking
at
the pan, you can change the fluid by removing the dipstick tube. The
torque
converter also has a drain plug that is accessed by removing the bell
housing shield and rotating the engine until the drain plug is on the
bottom. Use type F fluid, about 10-11 quarts for a complete fill.
All big blocks use basically the same gasket set except for the valve
cover gaskets and the intake gasket. Any good parts store can get them.
300ly,
      Don

Custom car covers made of various types of materials (plush, indoor,
outdoor, etc) can be purchased at Big Sky car covers in Bozeman Montana or
from California car covers...both can be found on the internet via search
engine and then just e-mail them or call them for an estimate. These are
exact fit covers and usually run about $200 to $250....Rusty in Oregon
