Location: Hayward, Calif | Hey Guys, I'm starting to find out that BFGoodrich, silvertown WWW tires don't seem to get along with higher air press. These tires have given me a rough ride from the beginning. This AM I checked the press cold and dropped it to 30 PSI and took it out for a spin. The ride wasn't quite as rough, but still noticeable. When I got home I checked them again. The tire was warm to the touch, not hot, just warm across the tread. The tire press was 33PSI. So I dropped it to 32PSI. Will see how it acts when I take it to the show tomorrow. If I'm not impressed I will drop it to 30PSI hot and see what that does. The tire says 35PSI max on the sidewall. I've always run my tires near max press without any problems. Jerry |

Location: Hayward, Calif | Back in the day, bias ply tires used 28 - 32 PSI. This is a steel belted radial tire. I shouldn't be having this problem with these tires. Especialy at $300 a tire. I have a set of Firestones on my 65 New Yorker. They have been running smooth as glass since day one. but Firestone no longer makes WW tires. Jerry |

Location: Parts Unknown | Aren't the BFG's a Coker repop/lookalike ? There never was a Silvertown
radial, so these are someone's fantasy tire. Who actually made them ?
Coker was having all sorts of complaints about their tires and ride/failures
a few years back. As I am not in the place of needing tires, I am not staying
up on how this played out. Maybe others are more up to speed ?

Location: Hayward, Calif | The tire is a BFGoodrich, And it says ' Silvertown' on the sidewall. I didn't know it at the time, that BFGoodrich is in bed with coker. Had I known that I would have never gotten involved with them. I'm not sure if BFGoodrich makes the tire or if Coker makes it and puts BFGoodrich name on it. I'm still playing around with different tire pressures to see if I can get the ride to settle down. The shocks are standard OEM. Only a 1000 miles on this car since restoration and all drive train components rebuilt. Jerry |

Location: Parts Unknown | My understanding has been that Coker pays a license fee to BFG for
the use of their name/design and makes (or has the tires made) for
them to sell.
