This car is in a salvage yard. The owner will NOT sell parts off of it.
He wants to sell it as is, for $2500.
The car has no engine, no front seat, no radio, and no side trim to speak of.
The windshield is cracked. The hood is beyond repair. No floor in the trunk.
The floors in the passenger area have been repaired about 30 years ago, but
still rusty. It has the Chevron emblems, and dual rear antenna bases.
What you see is what you get. It has no VIN.

There's a lot of spares on the car. To restore it would cost a lot. If I had a 59 Dodge I'd buy it.

.
I’ll bet the owner looked on the door jamb and found a two holes instead VEHICLE NO. plate;
He should check the place near right hinge under the hood;
Most of Hamtramck-built 1959 Dodges have VIN on the data plate together!

I checked for the VIN myself. Nothing.
You can see in the photo where the VIN is suppose to be, it was painted over a long time ago.

Being a 2-door hardtop, yes.
The 2-door specific parts are getting very hard to find.

Based on the extent of the rust, I'll bet that the car would fall apart if someone tried to remove it. I'd buy the 'picking rights' to the car for a little above scrap. If he's not interested, then you may have to wait for the estate sale.

Thanks for all of the feedback guys.
So, if I go and get this thing, I would be able to complete 1 - 1959 Dodge Coronet.
The problem with that, is that I don't have the time to build this car.
So I would have to sell both cars. Do you guys remember Fraunkensteen ?
If someone is interested, I will sell both cars for a total of $5000.

Well, it looks like I am going to go back and get this thing. I noticed that this Coronet
has a torqueflite transmission, does that mean that it had a 361 engine ?

Torqueflite was available for any Coronet with either a 326 or 383 (D500) engine. 361 was not available for Coronet in '59.

That clown is not living in todays world I'm afraid!

Here, that would not even be salable to a scrap yard unless it is cut up into smaller un-recognizable pieces.
No VIN and a title is a death sentence here.
I had to dispose of several cars that way, the last being a rust free 57 Windsor 4dr hardtop that some of you good folks here had the benefit of parts from it.

It looks like this Green 59 Coronet may have been built in Delaware.

Well, I got it.

Now I just need to give it some tires, brakes, an engine and seats.

Looks great! Congratulations! You saved it and without you, this beautiful peace of American history would be gone forever. This will make you smile as long as you live, something worth more than money and something the so called "car guys" here^ will never understand.

You will find a vin plate somewhere. Has to be some not saveable even if you got to buy one someplace. Might be a member with a spare with a heart that has it. What was the code for 2 door hardtops? That yard in Sunrise TX might have one. https://www.facebook.com/Browneautosalvage/ Maybe John (big M) too. Marc between Newark and Columbia.
